Founder of Aveleda. When he inherited the estate, he transformed a large area of woods and agricultural lands in vineyards, planted in the French style. He released the first Aveleda wine, that immediately gained international acclaim in the Paris and Berlin contests in the end of the XIX century. He is celebrated in the company as the visionary man that once said “The future of this house will be wine”. And today his dream is fulfilled today, beyond what he imagined.
